The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives presents this timely book release with a celebratory evening in Mondragon, Tuesday Oct 8, at 7:30pm. This is free, all are welcome, there’ll be snacks and of course your chance to meet the author and purchase a copy!

WANTED: Used Books!!

Mondragon is now seeking to increase its “used books” bookstore selection.

If you are willing to donate your quality used books we would gratefully accept them.

If you would like some compensation for your used books we can offer a credit note for the bookstore and/or the cafe.

Obviously, we are still a radical bookstore and would prefer donations of titles that fit – books that question mainstream politics and provide alternative and earth-friendly options for humans and all species would be nice!Â Â We are also interested in increasing our fiction and poetry sections – but please, no schlock!

When dropping off your used books, please leave them in a box with your contact information so that our bookstore “buyer” can get back to you with an offer of credit. Thanks!

SLINGSHOTS ARE IN!!!! It’s the best time of the year when Slingshots arrive
Each day of the year features at least one radical, historical reference. There’s tons of quotes, a menstrual calendar, info on networking, DIY emotional well being tips, botanicals for healing, a ‘know your rights’ section (tips on dealing with the police). If that’s not enough…there is also… a radical contact list featuring locations all around the world, and a section to write down contact info of all the wonderful people you’ll surely meet in 2013.

We have the regular as well as the pocket size.

Apples!

Hello Winnipeg!
Here at the Mondragon, we’re getting ready for the winter and are looking for apples that we can freeze to make pies, crumbles, hot spiced apple cider and the likes. If you have an apple tree with more apples than you know what to do with, send us an e-mail (mondragon@mondragon.ca) or a face book message and we’ll happily come by and relieve you of your apple-picking duties.

We’ve got a great line-up of events for the fall and we’re just beginning!! Â Book launches, poetry readings, rad music performances and the likes.

We’re always happy to host people and groups who are passionate about their art and causes and want to share it with others. Â If you’d like to have your next event at Mondragon, simply e-mail us (mondragon@mondragon.ca) with a description of the event and the date+time that best suits your schedule. Â We always do our best to accommodate and part of that is having enough notice to plan these things properly and give the event the time it deserves.

The beginning of the school year is fast approaching but before you panic, let us assure you that you can get your textbooks from Mondragon!Â Professors, if you know what textbooks you’ll be needing and would like to order from us, send an e-mail to mondragon@mondragon.caÂ or give us as call 946-5241.

We’ll come right into the classroom with your textbooks.Â And! they’re cheaper than your campus bookstore.Â What amazing service, right?
